Ways to get to Cabinas Bosque Mar:
BY CAR!
Four wheel drive a must if driving to Carate
- You can rent a car near the airport Juan Santa MarÌa in Alajuela or down town San JosÈ. Once in your car, you can get to the Osa PenÌnsula by using either the Cerro de la Muerte route (starting in Cartago) or the Costanera Sur route (starting in Alajuela). We definitely recommend the second route due to the nice views and better roads!.. Just check your maps, and come over!
BY BUS!
- You can take the public bus that leaves San josÈ at 12:00pm from
the Puerto JimÈnez bus station, 1 block north of San Carlos Bus station in San JosÈ downtown. It is gonna be a 8 - 10 hours ride, bring a magazine!...
The current ticket price is around $10.
BY BOAT!
- The public boat to Puerto JimÈnez leaves Golfito from the public pier at 5:00am (except sundays), 9:45am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. The cost is around $6 and takes about thirty minutes. Water taxis are also available. Look here to see how close the PJ pier is to BMB.
BY PLANE!
- Two airlines fly to Puerto Jimenez, Nature Air (out of national airport Tobias BolaÒos in Pavas, San JosÈ) and Sansa (out of Juan santa MarÌa International Airport in Alajuela). Both companies land on the Puerto JimÈnez airport. Look here to see how close the PJ airport is to BMB. The prices are displayed on their respective websites, just check!
From Panama:
- Take the public bus from the Panama border to Golfito ($2-$5, 90 minutes). Once in Golfito take a public ferry or private water taxi to Puerto Jimenez.
